Since the launch of ChatGPT in 2022, a cross-disciplinary group of leaders across program ownership, technology, legal, and test development has been at the forefront of exploring how generative AI is transforming assessment. What began as a conversation has evolved into an ongoing dialogue across the industry, shaped and reshaped at each major conference by new insights, new challenges, and new questions. Where should we focus? What needs to change? And how do we keep pace with what’s next?

One thing has become clear: change is not slowing down. It is accelerating.

Join this panel of experts as they continue an evolving conversation that began in 2023, bringing fresh perspectives from the front lines of AI and assessment. What started as a discussion on test development has expanded well beyond it, with each session pushing into new territory and opening new lines of inquiry. Each conversation builds on the last, reflecting the rapid pace of change across the field while challenging long-held assumptions about assessment.

From legal frameworks to technological applications, panelists will explore how generative AI is not only reshaping traditional test development, but expanding the very boundaries of what assessment can be.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify key areas of opportunity and risk to bring back to their organizations, informed by cross-disciplinary discussion and real-world examples.

  • Review and consider emerging perspectives on how generative AI is reshaping assessment, including insights that extend beyond traditional test development.

  • Explore new and evolving technology approaches leveraging generative AI, and consider how these innovations could be applied within their own assessment contexts.
