Chicago Teachers Union Foundation, 1901 W Carroll Ave, Chicago

Join IRRPP, Chicago Teachers Union (CTU), and Haymarket Books for a book talk with Dr. David Stovall based on his latest book, Engineered Conflict: Structural Violence and the Future of Black Life in Chicago. Dr. Stovall will discuss themes from the book, such as the displacement and isolation of Black communities and the ways people of color support each other and collectively resist capitalism and white supremacy. Dr. Elizabeth Todd-Breland, co-author with Karen Lewis of I Didn't Come Here to Lie: My Life and Education, will join Dr. Stovall in conversation.

The event is in-person. We encourage people to wear masks, and we will have extra masks available.

We hope to record the event and add the video to our website afterward.
