Join IGPA for the February faculty coffee featuring Rachel Jackson-Gordon, postdoctoral research associate at the Family Resiliency Center in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at UIUC.
This presentation will explore connections between high-quality early childhood development opportunities and violence prevention. It will integrate research, policy, and practice perspectives that underscore the importance of interventions and environments that support children’s stress coping, along with implications for Illinois policy and planning. The presentation will particularly highlight the potential of nature-, music-, and mindfulness-based interventions as low-cost, easily implementable strategies. This work is being sponsored through IGPA's Research Scholar Initiatives program.
