Science Pub: This is Your Brain on Tech. How our Technology Use Shapes our Brains, Relationships, & Sense of Self with Doreen Dodgen-McGee, Psy.D., Psychologist, Author, and Speaker

August 4, 2026 | 7-9pm; Doors at 6pm | McMenamins Mission Theater

The brain wires together where it fires together, and, given that the average American spends an average of 10.5 hours a day with screens, plenty of wiring is happening in response to engagement with technology. This talk exposes the way this impacts mental and physical health, relationships, and a person’s sense of self. Not at all technology averse, this talk is an empowering exposition on why it’s hard to focus and find calm and how users can make small changes that have huge positive impact.

Science Pubs are a casual lecture series located in fun venues across the region, recommended for ages 10 and over.
