Making the Most of Your Andalucía Experience

Tue, Oct 6, 2026, 3:00 PM - 3:45 PM

A free online workshop for Erasmus students, year abroad and study abroad students, interns, au pairs and other young people currently living in Andalucía.

You're here, but are you getting as much out of your experience as you hoped?

Maybe you're discovering that Spanish outside the classroom is a whole different story. You can follow your lessons, but then someone speaks to you in full-on Andaluz and suddenly you're wondering where all your Spanish went. 😅

Or perhaps you're finding it harder than expected to connect with local people, navigate everyday situations or feel completely comfortable putting yourself out there.

You're not the only one.

In this workshop, we'll look at the language and cultural challenges that can come with living in Andalucía, and, more importantly, what you can do to make the most of your time here.

In this session, you'll discover:

🍊 Why classroom Spanish can suddenly feel so different when you're living in Andalucía and why that's completely normal

🍊 What makes Andalusian Spanish difficult to understand and how to start tuning your ear to the local accent

🍊 Simple ways to communicate more naturally and confidently, even when your Spanish isn't perfect

🍊 How to approach the social and cultural side of life in Andalucía so you can connect more easily with the people around you

🍊 Practical ways to make the most of your experience, rather than staying in your comfort zone or waiting until your Spanish feels “good enough”

This isn't a grammar lesson or a typical Spanish class.

It's about understanding the Spanish you're actually hearing, feeling more confident using it, connecting with people and getting more out of your experience in Andalucía.
